Cardiff Assembly Member, Jenny Randerson has taken the campaign to save the historic Vulcan pub to the Assembly.
Jenny has tabled a Statement of Opinion, the Assembly's version of an Early Day Motion in the House Of Commons, calling on the developers to look again at keeping the popular and unique pub where it is.
Jenny said: "I hope that my colleagues in the Assembly will join me in calling for the Vulcan to be saved. It embodies the city's history and holds a great many fond memories for the people of Cardiff.
"Many of Cardiff's pubs feel like they could be from any town or city but the Vulcan is different. It would be a tragedy if it was knocked down in the name of redevelopment."
Notes.
Opposes the proposed demolition of The Vulcan Hotel in Adamsdown, Cardiff and calls on the developers to re-consider their proposals with a view to saving this historic pub.
Believes that it will be a great loss to Cardiff and Wales if, in 2009, this pub pulls its last pint.
