Commenting on the Prime Minister's visit to Wales, Jenny Randerson Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Minister for the Economy said:
"Another day goes by and we've heard that more and more people are losing their jobs in Wales. It seems that Gordon Brown is coming here to see the mess he's created.
"His VAT-cut gimmick is having little effect on the amount of money people have in their pockets. The £12 billion bill for the VAT-cut could have been better spent on putting more money in to the pockets of people on lower and middle incomes.
"It may be good for the Prime Minister's image to be seen out and about during difficult financial times but without a well-thought of plan to ease us out of the recession, I think his visit is a waste of time."
