200 jobs will be lost in Wrexham because of Air Products PLC's decision

Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Economy Minister, Jenny Randerson AM has today called on the Assembly Government Health Minister to urgently review the contract to supply the home oxygen contract for the NHS held by Air Products PLC.
Following the news that Air Products PLC will transfer 200 jobs from Wrexham to China, Jenny Randerson believes that the millions of pounds the company receives from the Welsh NHS should be reviewed.
Jenny Randerson said: "Since Air Products took over the Home Oxygen contract, the operation of it has been very worrying with massive overspends met by the Welsh taxpayer. I think it is absolutely wrong that the company thinks it can pull out of Wales, cutting hundreds of jobs and yet keep millions of pounds of public money through this contract.
"I think that as a matter of urgency, the Health Minister needs to look at the contract and consider very strongly whether or not it is in the country's best interest for this contract to continue."
