Education review can't hide years of failure - Randerson2.25.00pm GMT Mon 18th Jan 2010
Commenting on the announcement by the Welsh Assembly Government of a review of education funding in Wales, Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Education Minister, Jenny Randerson said: "Finally, the Government seems to be accepting the facts that teachers, parents and pupils have been telling them for years. They deserve some credit for finally admitting that they have been wrong for so long, but this comes from the Government who have just cut education funding even further. "Just last week, the First Minister rejected Welsh Lib Dem calls to reverse his Government's devastating cuts to our children's future. "If we are to give our children a fair start, a situation where their education is seemingly worth less than students in England is outrageous. "A review is one thing, but with every moment that passes, another child's future is damaged by the Labour-Plaid Government's refusal to give them a fair start in life." Notes:
